Firsthandの構想は５年以上前からはじまりました
素晴らしい技術を持った日本の産地を尊敬する想い
相反して産地の工場に何年も山積みになっている大量の生地や服を
見て見ぬふりをしてしまう罪悪感
そんな想いや社会の課題を解決出来る「場所」を作れないかなと
時間はかかりましたが、
2019年10月 東京 南青山骨董通りの奥に「Firsthand青山店」を開店することが出来ました
内装は直前まで入居していたお店の内装を可能な限り再活用しながら
廃棄物を少なくしたり
他で使われなくなったマテリアルに手を加えて全く異なる用途のデザインに転換したり
「解体と再構築」の面白さと環境や社会問題を伝えるデザインを大切にしています
The plotting the idea for the Firsthand started about five years ago.
Although having the respects to the Japanese factories and producers, and recognizing their great skills and technologies, we also had the guilty for looking away from a large amount of fabrics and clothes that was left at the factories.
We dreamed the place where to resolve such environment and other social problems or tasks.
It took us a long journey, and we opened our first store of “Firsthand Aoyama” in Tokyo at Minami Aoyama Kotto St. in Oct. 2019.
We created the store interiors using the materials what our ex owner left to reduce the unnecessary waste,
and created new designs and use out of the materials with no use left.
We value the designs with the concepts of “Deconstruction and Reconstruction” and approaches to the social issues.
